The Brief
East High School is one of Youngstown City Schools' flagship buildings — and the home of the Golden Bears. The athletic department and administration wanted a refreshed, durable identity across the Athletic Hall, the E-Sports rooms, and adjacent interior spaces. Big bear graphics, big school pride, and a build quality that holds up to a decade of high-school traffic.
The Challenge
School signage has to clear three filters at once: it has to look the way the kids and the alumni want it to look, it has to install around an active school calendar, and it has to survive the kind of wear that buildings full of teenagers produce. Materials, adhesives, and finish all have to do their job for years, not seasons.
- 01Design
Athletic identity worked through with the athletic department — bear graphics scaled to the wall, mascot consistency across rooms.
- 02Produce
Wall graphics, vinyl, and dimensional pieces fabricated and prepped at our Boardman shop.
- 03Install
Phased installs scheduled around the school calendar — Athletic Hall went up between sports seasons, E-Sports landed before the next semester.
